Who We Are

There are three producers who work for Made in Brighton Ltd on a job-share basis, there areas of expertise are varied and wide-reaching:

The Executive

ROBERT COGO-FAWCETT began his early career at Manchester’s Royal Exchange where he eventually became Finance Director. He then ran in turn Riverside Studios, The Lyric Hammersmith and Theatre Royal, Bath. Interspersed with these posts were spells as an Independent Producer in the West End, President and Executive Producer of a US Arts Foundation and Producer of the Barbican BITE Festival. Latterly Robert programmed the Amabassador Theatre Group’s nine West End theatres. He is currently Managing Director, Continental Europe for Clear Channel.

JON LINSTRUM’s backgound is in the theatre lighting design. He has lit shows in the West End, for all the main subsidised houses in London and for many of the major regional theatres, and has also worked for many of the UK’s leading devising companies, notably Improbable Theatre, Told by an Idiot and The Right Size. He is lighting designer and Production Manager on the International hit, ‘Shockheaded Peter’. More recently, he has worked extensively as a Production Manager in street arts, site-specific theatre and outdoor arts festivals. In this capacity he is Head of Production for ‘Streets of Brighton’, and ‘Winchester Hat Fair’ , production consultant for 'Norfolk & Norwich Festival', safety officer for Newcastle Winter Festival, and works regularly for Stockton Riverside Festival - most recently as Production Manager for Clipa Theater's first production outside Israel of their epic  water based show  Deus ex Machina..  He is also production manager for Improbable Theatre’s ‘Sticky’, which has toured throughout the world.

MARK RUBINSTEIN has worked at the Royal Court, ICA, Bill Kenwright Ltd, The Old Vic and as an independent producer. Mark has co-produced and general managed numerous shows including, Sexual Perversity in Chicago with Matthew Perry, Minnie Driver, Hank Azaria and Kelly Reilly; Macbeth directed by Ed Hall with Sean Bean and Samantha Bond (Albery); Benefactors by Michael Frayn, directed by Jeremy Sams with Neil Pearson and Emma Chambers (Albery); Jesus Hopped the A-Train directed by Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Arts Theatre); David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow directed by Peter Gill with Mark Strong, Patrick Marber and Kimberly Williams (tour and New Ambassadors); he co-promoted the UK tour of Eddie Izzard’s one man show. He has recently been elected to the board of management of ‘The Society of London Theatre’.

ROSAMUND HALL joined Made in Brighton as a trainee producer in March 2004, she is involved in a number of projects including dreamthinkspeak. In addition to this practical involvement, we are currently exploring the possibility of more formal means of training and assessment to run alongside the practical work.

 

The Board of Directors

SIMON FANSHAWE is Chairman of Made in Brighton, he is a broadcaster for BBC radio and television, and writes for a number of national broadsheets.

SONIA FRIEDMAN is a West End producer.

MARK COURTICE is Artistic Director at the New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth

CARO NEWLING was executive prodicer at the Donmar Warehouse with Sam Mendes, she now runs the theatrical division of Scamp. She is also a board member of The National Theatre.

CHRISTINE GETTINS is the Associate Producer for Cultural Industries.

GLYNIS HENDERSON is the director of Glynis Henderson Productions Ltd which produces, general manages and represents a variety of theatre, music and dance productions. The company specialises in introducing unique and exciting new work to International Audiences and International work to the UK.

PAULA MURRAY is the Head of Arts and Creative Industries at Brighton and Hove City Council, she is an observer of the board.

Up until the Summer of 2004 CATHERINE REISER was a member of the board, but had to resign due to emigrating to Australia. Whilst in the UK Catherine was Director of the Thames Festival and a Producer for Theatre de Complicite.
